This week I took a sneak peek at what we’re seeing in the context of this big update on Google Product Reviews from December 2021. I also talked about a possible, unconfirmed update of the Google ranking in local search. Google also introduced a new design for the local package with the map on the right. Google Search Console updated the news performance report at what was likely the worst time. Google also introduced a new design for top stories, right. Google iOS is testing a new proposed clip snippet layout. Bing has new ways to search local stores, but I think it requires advertising. Google SafeSearch has a new notification for searchers and we showed how it took a month to filter a website out of the SafeSearch adult filter. Google talked about what to do if your author changes their name. Google said that adding the name of your category or topic to your URLs doesn’t matter. Google talked about inclusive language in search and how it affects crawling, indexing and ranking. Google Ads had another spending bug. Expect refunds if concerned. Google shows two ads in the local panel. Google Ads picture extensions are now available on desktop. Google Ads has updated the design and functionality of the custom columns. Google Ads has updated its election and political guidelines. Draft campaigns are no longer required for Google Ads testing. Microsoft Advertising has four new attributes for your Bing Ads Alexa.com gone, I talked a little bit about its history in SEO and search.
