Google Search Replace on October twenty sixth, Steady Scroll Confusion, Search Console API Updates & Meta

This week we almost made it without reporting an update to the Google search ranking, but we had one, maybe on October 26th. There is confusion about Google’s continuous scrolling and the impact it has on Search Console reporting. Google said when it comes to web search, images really don’t matter on your pages. The Google Search Console API now supports Discover and News data, as well as regex controls. Google said that there were no categories of websites hard-coded in the YMYL algorithm. Google said trust isn’t just a matter of the links pointing to your website. Google said when it comes to author bylines, don’t use “admin” or “author”. Google does not classify websites based on the technology platform of the infrastructure used. Google’s John Mueller lost some knowledge of reducing duplicates by a factor of 10. Google said it might be a good idea to have an “often updated” XML sitemap for some URLs.
