This weekend we had another update to the Google search ranking algorithm that went unconfirmed. The Google Search Console had some serious bugs and stability issues, but it’s all caught up now. Google said that for SEO reasons, you shouldn’t remove old news articles from your website. Google talked more about the importance of author byline for EAT reasons. Google has a fresh take on automotive specs for car searches that upset auto dealers, but Google said it is licensing that data. Google said self-referential canonicals can help fix small SEO flaws. Google said it wasn’t that bad having dynamically updated related links. Google Ads has updated the keyword preference for matching types to include BERT for ads. Google Ads has introduced new pages for advertisers for the sake of transparency. Google Ads had an outage this week that caused a lot of billing confusion. Microsoft Advertising offers dozens of new attributes for marketing with a purpose. Firefox tests Bing as the default search engine in its browser. SMX will remain virtual until 2022.
