Google Search Console protection concern Bulk e-mail redirect error

In the past 24 hours or so, Google has sent me dozens of notifications from websites that I used to verify the properties of the Google Search Console. The notices say “New Coverage Problem Detected” and the specific error is a “Redirect Error”. Google said it would investigate why all of these notifications were posted.
Here is one that I received for my company website but I received tons, it is:

Clicking the Fix it link will take you to the Coverage report, which itemizes the redirect error status. Here is a screenshot of it:
Google is investigating the problem, but Google’s Daniel Waisberg and John Mueller said, “We’re investigating …”

There are tons of SEOs concerned about this, but the good news is that it’s very widespread so it’s likely a problem on Google’s part.
