Frequent Google algorithm updates, high quality assessor pointers up to date, IndexNow with Bing & Yandex & extra

First, excuse the noise at the beginning, it stops after 30 seconds. This week we had another update to the Google search ranking algorithm to report, but at least Semrush’s Mordy Oberstein has proven that I’m not crazy about reporting these updates. Google updated its search quality rating policy document, which was last updated about a year ago. Microsoft Bing and Yandex announced IndexNow, an all search engine initiative to provide instant indexing, but most search engines are not participating. Google seems to have started introducing the things to consider, refining this search, and expanding these search capabilities. Google Review Snippets has a new guideline for the author name length of 100 characters. Google said that different content intentions on a website are fine, but avoid doing it at the page level. Google talked about centerpiece annotations, an internal word they use on Google. Google said that authors are not a direct ranking factor. Bing says it checks your sitemap XML file on a daily basis. Google asks if you had more exportable data for Search Console performance reports, how would you use it. Google My Business has replaced the “managed” attributes with “owned”. Google Local is testing purple hearing aids for women owned businesses. Google My Business has a new “crowd” section with attributes. Microsoft Advertising has published advertisements for health insurance companies. Google has a new policy to ban false claims that undermine the democratic process. Google Analytics had a bug on October 18th where an hour of data was lost and unrecoverable. A Google survey asks you if you would pay a subscription fee for search results without ads. And Frederic Dubut announced that he has left Microsoft Bing after 13 years with the company. And if you want to help sponsor these vlogs go to patreon.com/barryschwartz.
