Instagram Provides New Choice to Embed Consumer Profiles on Third-Social gathering WebsItes

Instagram offers another way to promote your Instagram presence outside of the app, with a new option to embed a mini version of your Instagram profile on third party websites.

As you can see in this example, you can now link to an Instagram profile directly on a website, which is a different way of connecting to a user as opposed to certain content in the app.

As explained by the Instagram boss Adam Mosseri:

“You have been able to embed an Instagram photo or video on a website for many years. This builds on that idea and allows you to embed a miniature version of your Instagram profile on a website. Maybe you want to present your Instagram content somewhere on a website or link to someone else’s. “

How useful this will be is difficult to say. For many brands, you would ideally want people to stay on your website rather than filtering them out on Instagram, although this could be another way to promote an ongoing connection by referring visitors to your IG presence as well. You would also assume that most of the embeds in the context of a blog post relates to a specific reference image or video as opposed to an entire profile, but there could be use cases and opportunities for the tool – and there is more direct connectivity always an advantage in this regard.

An example could be referring people to influencers that your company has worked with and who showcase your products on their Instagram posts. By connecting to an IG account, this could potentially serve as a visual presentation to add images to your website while also improving the community connection – and therefore reach – in the app.

There are several ways to use it, though overall it seems less valuable than post embeds.

Still, it’s a different consideration. Instagram profile embeds are currently only available to US users.
