Google Search Console down for a lot of SEOs since 1:30 p.m. ET

As of about 1:30 p.m. ET, five hours ago, the Google Search Console is still unavailable to many SEOs. It might work for you, but for many, the Google Search Console won’t load. Google is aware of the problem and is working to fix it, but there is no ETA.

I wrote about it on Search Engine Land A few hours ago but it’s still down

Google confirmed the problem two hours ago at 4:30 p.m. ET:

We are aware of an issue with Search Console that is preventing some users from using the service. We are working to fix the issue and will post an update when the issue is resolved. ^ gi

But the problem first appeared five hours ago at 1:30 p.m. ET:

@dannysullivan Has the Google Search Console down? 429 errors are always returned … @rustybrick pic.twitter.com/5KIT44FB9K

Personally from my office in West Nyack, New York, it worked flawlessly through Verizon FiOS. When I drove home, about ten minutes in the car, it didn’t work – still through Verizon FiOS.

heh – I went home, started working from home and checked the Google Search Console – it’s dead to me at home pic.twitter.com/yqorFvzfLL

However, it does seem to reappear with some people. I was wondering if this is a server resource problem or something else.

Either way – Google is aware of the problem, is working on it, and I suspect it will be fixed soon.

I am surprised that there have been problems for so long.
