Larger Google algorithm replace, MUM & extra Google updates, variety of rating alerts & Google turns 23

On September 24th and 25th, Google had an unconfirmed but rather large update of the Google search ranking algorithm. Google hosted its big search event called Search On. Google talked about adding MUM in more places in Search and a number of other features. Google said that it is moving away from the number of 200 ranking signals because it is a bit misleading. Google said the report on improving the rich results for products starting September 29th will now show more detailed bugs. Google has released new help documents for best practices with ecommerce websites in Google Search. Google said it was best not to have any Google sponsored product lists. Google said that when search intent changes, query interpretation changes too. A survey found that most SEOs were experiencing unexpected ranking changes, and most of it was due to a ranking decline. A lot of SEOs noticed this week that the Search Console reported the crawled, unindexed error, but the pages are actually indexed. Google said that URL’s case sensitivity is important, but maybe more so for robots.txt statements. Bing has this weird red dot on the search bar next to the shopping tab. Google My Business can now display a Latin American business label. Google i tests seller ratings in the snippets. New budget reports have been introduced in Google Ads that visually show you more budgeting features. Google Ads is updating its Sexually Explicit Content Policy to be part of the more severe Outrageous Content Policy. Google Ads is moving away from the attribution model of the last click towards the data-driven attribution model for conversion actions. And Google celebrated its 23rd birthday last week.
