Microsoft Bing Picture Search receives main improve with V3 of the aesthetic mannequin

Microsoft announced on the Bing blog that there have been some serious improvements to Bing image search in the past few months. Microsoft attributes these improvements to the use of the updated version (V3) of the aesthetic model.

Based on Microsoft’s testing, the improvements the search company saw were pretty significant. They include:

  • 48% reduction in distance
  • SBS accuracy improved by 10% on the CUHKPQ public aesthetic dataset
  • A 36% higher correlation with human judgment
  • The V3 model outperformed the V2 model in click rate by 36%
