Instagram Increases Response Choices in Stories Polls, Facilitating Expanded Engagement

As shared by the social media consultant megcoffeeInstagram has quietly updated its poll sticker for Instagram Stories, which now allows you to add up to four answer options for your poll, doubling your answer options.

This could be great for social media managers looking to generate more engagement with their stories, as polls’ simple one-tap response process provides a great incentive for interactions, which can then help drive both the response and to maximize the range.

But it can be difficult to narrow down polls to just two answers. There’s always that gray area in between, the “Both” answers, and with four answer boxes making it much easier to get in-depth, integrated answers on any topic, which again could be valuable as both a research and engagement option .

In addition, users Hammod Oh also reported that users can now change the color of the question text of the poll sticker.

Both are small updates within the broader scheme, but each could offer value and utility in different ways.
