Riley Hope on ladies in SEO and automotive search

In part One Riley Hope and I talked about her SEO career, how she wrote her thesis on ethics in SEO, and we talked about the automotive SEO field. In the second part we talk about women in search engine optimization and more about the automotive sector and search results.

Women in SEO:

We talked about how Melissa Fach, who has been in the SEO community for a long time, is now in the auto SEO space. But I remembered the old days of SEO with female SEO executives like Jill Whalen, Christine Churchill, Heather Lloyd Martin and many others.

Then we delved into Riley’s story and talked about being a Floridian versus a New Yorker. We talked about her husband working in the US Air Force and working on top secret and secret stuff that we can’t talk about. She is a military woman and she describes what it is like to live like this, a great credit to her and her family. But yes, they must have perfect eyesight to be in the Air Force, but not to do SEO.

We then jump back into automotive SEO and search and I mention that controversy about By the way, Google said the new features that Google search has rolled out around auto retail search License this data.

She enjoys doing automotive SEO because she doesn’t have to take care of everything for the client. She can focus on the SEO and doesn’t have to worry about hosting, DNS, development, etc. But she misses working with small businesses, it was a bit more rewarding because it has a more direct impact on what they do.
