Replace of the Google search rating algorithm on January 11, 2022 (unconfirmed)

There may have been an update to the Google search ranking algorithm on January 11, 2022. This would be the first real unconfirmed update for 2022. I see both chatters spike from January 10th and continue to this day. Also, many of the tracking tools show large movements in Google search results.

SEO chatter

The ongoing WebmasterWorld many people have reported big changes in their rankings in the past few days. Here’s what some of the SEOs said:

I believe Google released an update yesterday even though no sensor reported it. Every competitor’s keyword position suddenly changed, and so did my own. Curious that everything is so calm. I think you might be right It was incredibly quiet (uh). That would make sense. My traffic to the USA went down a lot again yesterday, but international remained very strong. Today the US is also in decline, while international traffic is very heavy. Sunday just looks like a return to previous US traffic throttles. Heavy bot traffic this morning, Google crawling and few real people in between. Constant shuffling in the SERPS but crowded Amazon listings stay a fixture at the top which is a huge help to our Chinese competitors I’m sure of that. For me, Europe woke up yesterday along with a barrage of USA singles from its Christmas / New Year celebrations site visitors. The individual page visitors all went to individual widget pages, which is the most insubordinate thing for me.

The traffic was 308.3%.

My traffic was up yesterday too and looks pretty lively today too, until now. Mine is more like what I would expect at this time of year. Huge decline today. Semrush is on fire again … Another coincidence? 🙂 Something was definitely rolled out. All competitors in my niche are up (semrush). Something +10, +5. +3, +7 etc. Me? + 0.05. Again globbered, zero-day.
