October twenty sixth, replace of the Google search rating algorithm

There could have been one Update of the Google search ranking algorithm on the smaller side on or around October 26th. There was both limited chatter that day and limited that it was more than the norm but less than a huge update. And many of the tools showed increased volatility on or around October 26th.

The ongoing WebmasterWorld The thread started around October 26th with complaints about rank shifts in Google Search. Here’s some of that chatter:

Traffic has been higher and more stable for a while, until today. A rise in rank coincides with a sharp drop in traffic from all English-speaking countries. Search 25% at 3 p.m. and straight down 38%. I don’t waste time investigating whether it’s the page layout or the number of ads on the page. Google will do what it will, and so will I. We have one of the most volatile months in terms of (unannounced) updates and serp fluctuations, but one of the least active monthly threads, new posts are not indexed in the last few days, GSC shows Discovered but not indexed. sad it’s a 5 year old website with 1 million impressions daily (100K organic traffic). Unique content, + 1K words, but still … not indexed. SAD! No, high authority sites were never downgraded in my niche until recently, so the main note on shuffling.

Again, there was no flood of complaints, but a number above the norm. And we had a very quiet weekend, which again is not in the new norm.
