The personal profile grid has been a constant feature of Instagram despite the many changes. That could all change, however, according to prolific reverse engineering enthusiast Alessandro Paluzzi, who found a new “Edit Grid” feature hidden in the mobile app.

Instagram’s grid shows recent posts in chronological order. The top posts are at the top. To get attention, post or share an older post on the Instagram grid.

Paluzzi describes the Edit Grid function in detail in his article. new tweetThis would allow users to drag and drop raster posts in any order. Users could create new options with this simple change.

The grid would allow photographers, as well as other content creators, to display their latest work regardless of when they published it. It would also allow for more creative uses of the grid, such as sorting posts by color scheme or arranging individual posts into larger images in a “mosaic” style.

Since this feature is currently dormant in the app and is likely to be tested, there is no guarantee of a broader introduction, although I hope so.

This news comes after Adam Mosseri (Insta’s head) made several updates to the Instagram home screen. These upgrades included chronological and favorites only feeds.
