Google Ads now bans sports activities betting advertisements in Florida

Google Ads sent an update that you are no longer allowed to advertise sports betting services or ads in Florida through the Google Ads platform. According to Google, this will be effective from today, November 24, 2021.

Google said, “In November 2021, Google Ads country-specific gambling and gaming guidelines for the US will be updated to prohibit sports betting in Florida.”

Google made this change based on a ruling by a federal court in Washington DC that invalidated the Florida-Seminole Tribal Gaming Compact and made sports betting illegal in Florida.

As a result, Google must comply with the federal court ruling and prohibit the presentation and delivery of these types of ads in Florida.

Google announced that it would begin enforcing the policy clarification on November 24, 2021, today.
