How the ActiveCampaign Teams are Making a Distinction and Giving Again

Here at ActiveCampaign, our departments and teams act as our day-to-day family. Everyone knows that nothing brings families closer together than doing good for others. In this blog we want to shine a spotlight on how several individuals, as well as our Finance team, work to make a difference and impact change in our communities.

The finance team

The ActiveCampaign Finance team cultivates the company value of Pursue Growth with Gratitude by giving back to our community through time spent volunteering. The Finance team participates in WePledge 1%, an initiative aligned to our employee impact program, ActiveImpact, helping ActiveCampaign employees support the causes that are important to them. Together, the Finance team has volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) and at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to provide food and snack packs to families in need.

The team chose to volunteer their time at the GCFD as the effects of the pandemic has increased food insecurity among families with children and communities of color. The Finance team is proud of the work from the GCFD as the organization partners with more than 700 food banks across Cook County in Chicago to ensure nutritious food is available all year to neighbors in need. During the volunteer experience, the Finance team packed produce for the GCFD that subsequently was delivered to several hundred households throughout Chicagoland.

The team has also enjoyed volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, which eases the hardship of children’s illness on families through programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children. The Finance team spent time putting together snack packs for families that have to travel between medical appointments and don’t have time for a meal, or those who spend long days in the hospital and want an alternative to vending machine snacks.

ActiveCampaign encourages employees to take up to 24 hours of paid Volunteer Time Off and the Finance team has enjoyed using that benefit to help provide food accommodations to those in need.

Daniel Le

Daniel Le (Dan) from our Sydney office works to provide front-line assistance for our APAC customers in the support department. He resides in Sydney, and has lived there since he started working at ActiveCampaign almost a year ago.

Dan shares how the team is making an impact:

“Our wellness committee in APAC is made up of 6 employees representing Support, Success, and Sales. Social, wellness, and philanthropy are the 3 main focuses of our team. The team meets every 2 weeks to organize and manage monthly gatherings for our APAC remote teams as well as local teams.

My duty is managing our charity projects, which involve organizing monthly fundraisers on behalf of numerous nonprofit organizations using the charity platform. (Beneity is software that allows ActiveCampaign employees to make donations, request matches, and find volunteer opportunities.) We also hold live fundraising events.

The nicest part in helping charitable organizations is that we can do all our part to make the lives of others better.

Our Biggest Morning Tea held in May was our most successful event to date. Everyone gathered at our Sydney Hub, which aimed to raise money and awareness for cancer research and cancer prevention. We had a great turnout and it was fun to catch up with everyone.

The connection to our value—Pursue Growth with Gratitude—by supporting and contributing to charity organizations is an essential component of the business since it encourages each of us to get engaged and support others in order to better people’s lives.

I am very appreciative that ActiveCampaign endeavors to keep putting time and money towards having an impact in our local and international communities.”

Hannah Blackman

Hannah Blackman is the facilities coordinator at the ActiveCampaign office, and everyone’s favorite face to see walking around the Chicago HQ. Hannah is responsible for many tasks to keep our HQ organized and comfortable for all our in-office employees. She manages things such as kitchen work, sending/organizing mail for teams, and a lot of computer tasks.

After 5 years at ActiveCampaign, Hannah has made quite an impact. However, one of the places where her work and impact can be seen the most is through her partnership with Best Buddies.

Best Buddies is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for 1-to-1 friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

This is what Hannah has to say about her work with Best Buddies:

“My work with Best Buddies is the annual Best Buddies Friendship Walk. This walk is important to me because Best Buddies helped me find my job at ActiveCampaign.

I am most proud of being the team captain of the best Buddies 2022 Friendship Walk ActiveCampaign Team, and I’m excited to be team captain again next year.

ActiveCampaign has supported my work with Best Buddies by coming to events, helping me raise money for the walk, and also participating in the walk and supporting me.”

Whatever the cause, wherever the fundraiser we are so proud of our teams and these outstanding individuals who embody this value of ActiveCampaign in their professional and personal lives.
