Reconnecting with clients after COVID

This post was written by Steve Rosenbaum, founder of Impeccable follow-up, an ActiveCampaign reseller agency.

When the COVID lockdown was lifted, John and Windy Zabojnik faced many challenges for their boys Texas Cryoworks & Wellness Center Companies.

  • How would you make your clients feel safe during their appointments?
  • How do you convey to your customers that they are in a new location?
  • How will they follow up on free trial participants and convert them into customers?
  • How can they publicize their new cutting-edge pain relief technologies that have been remarkably effective but were still unknown to most customers?

Texas Cryoworks turned to ours Impeccable follow-up Agency to help them develop a strategy. We launched the “Pain Relief Challenge”, supported by ActiveCampaign. This initiative not only overcame every one of their challenges, but brought them an unprecedented amount of new sales in just three days.

The “Pain Relief Challenge” was a complete success. By segmenting customers according to interest and activity, 24 new appointments were generated. Then Texas Cryoworks strategically communicated with its customers, only sending them messages on topics that interested them. Customers are now buying more frequently and Texas Cryoworks is able to send customers the information relevant to them.

“ActiveCampaign and Flawless Followup have done a great job bringing us new sales. Over 78% of our appointments bought new services from us in the first 3 days alone! ”- John and Windy Zabojnik, Texas Cryoworks & Wellness

Here is the process Texas Cryoworks followed to get customers to buy from them again

The first question Texas Cryoworks faced was “How do I contact my customers?”

Studies show that email marketing is still the champion when it comes to getting people to buy. But, like most companies, Texas Cryoworks didn’t maintain an email list.

Quickly build an email list from scratch

Building and maintaining an email list is one of the most valuable tools a company can use to improve customer relationships and increase sales. This process has been a tedious task in the past. However, new technologies such as point of sales (POS) systems, CRMs, accounting systems, and business management systems often maintain customer data that can be used to quickly create an email list.

Texas Cryoworks had a scheduling system in place with the necessary information. They just hadn’t used it for marketing purposes in the past. So the first step was to export the customer data from the scheduling system and import it into a new list in ActiveCampaign.

Create a working marketing strategy

In his book The Ultimate Sales Letter, marketing expert Dan Kennedy famously said that instead of sending individual messages, marketing sequences have made millions and millions of dollars for his customers.

At this point we turned to ActiveCampaign automation and designed a sequence that allowed us to maximize our results. In fact, we put in multiple sequences to track and track each and every customer as they complete the challenge.

Carefully designing promotions also gives you vital information that you can measure so that you always know how your campaign is performing and how to improve at each stage.

Write emails that get customers to act

Texas Cryoworks’ list was pretty cold because their customers weren’t used to seeing email from them. That makes promotion more and more difficult.

To counteract this, we have taken various measures to ensure that the emails are opened and links are clicked

  1. Uses compelling subject lines to open the email without triggering spam filters.
  2. Used the “urgency” of a 3 day sale and included a countdown timer in every email.
  3. Uses an eye-catching graphic to summarize the Pain Relief Challenge for those who haven’t read the text.
  4. Short text created.
  5. Had a strong “call to action” that got readers to take the next step.

The emails worked like a charm and delivered strong sales results. We have also seen some “opt-outs” that can be expected with any campaign. Opt-outs are always highest when you get promoted on a cold list and go down significantly as your audience gets used to your email.

Get customers to sign up and confirm on a new list

It is important to respect your customers’ privacy and receive emails from you. Texas Cryoworks had an established relationship with its customers. Nonetheless, we wanted customers to know that our advertising behavior was changing and to invite them to participate.

We have created a landing page with an ActiveCampaign form for this purpose. By filling out the form, the customer was placed on a new list and “tagged”. This step helped us to quickly identify the customers who completed this action step.

Bonus: Use social media to go viral on their list

Most companies pay a lot of money for new leads. But Texas Cryoworks generated 11 new referrals without paying a dime!

The best part is that these new leads were highly qualified as they were recommended by their friends and family on social media. We achieved this goal by integrating a competition into the action. Customers were given the chance to win prizes by sharing the Pain Relief Challenge on their social media timelines.

The typical lifetime value of a customer is around $ 2,500. New Texas Cryoworks Referrals are worth up to $ 27,500!

frequently asked Questions

Is it okay to import contacts from another program?

You must respect the rights and wants of the people on your list. ActiveCampaign allows you to import leads who have given you consent, as in theirs. described Consent Policy. In most cases, you have tacitly agreed to notify customers who have done business with you in the past.

However, we decided to be extra careful and added a new “opt-in” step to the “Pain Relief Challenge” to be on the safe side. This provides additional benefits as there is an expectation that customers will not treat future messages as spam.

How soon will I see results

We developed the Pain Relief Challenge so that we can see results immediately. It was literally a matter of minutes before we saw people open emails, click links, fill out forms, share on social media, and finally make appointments.

Of course, every single campaign is different and depends on things like

  • The structure of your automations.
  • The quality of your copywriting.
  • The effectiveness of your calls to action.
  • More!

The quality and experience of our Flawless Followup ™ team has helped us achieve the best results in the shortest possible time.

Don’t people want to “opt out”

Yes sir. You could and should expect opt-outs. They happen every time you send an email. You’ll be higher at first because your audience isn’t used to seeing email from you. Opt-outs are simply people telling you that they don’t want to buy your product.

On the other hand, if you don’t send emails, you’re missing out on sales.

In the case of Texas Cryoworks, they received a handful of opt-outs. They also received 24 new appointments and 11 new referrals, representing potential sales of tens of thousands of dollars.

Your choice is whether or not to send out emails to keep people on your list. Remember these people do not intend to buy

On the other hand, with email you offer a valuable service for customers who want and need what you have. Of course, these customers are likely buying from someone else.

Most savvy business owners know that email marketing is the best way to build relationships with their customers that lead to more sales and higher profits.

Will this work for my business?

Yes sir. While no one can guarantee results, a study compiled by Invesp finds that email marketing is more effective at customer loyalty and is preferred by more marketers than any other marketing tactic.

If you don’t have a consistent email marketing strategy, you’re likely to be missing out on sales and dropping opportunities through the cracks.

ActiveCampaign offers the most robust and affordable email marketing solution for small businesses and that’s why we recommend it to our flawless follow-up customers.

Campaign Postmortem: Achievements and Opportunities for Improvement

When it comes to measuring goals, the “Pain Relief Challenge” hits the ball out of the park on many levels.

  • Communicates how Texas Cryoworks maximizes customer safety in the post-Covid environment.
  • Quickly improved sales in just 3 days.
  • Turn free trial participants into paying customers.
  • Introduction of new pain relieving services.
  • Customers brought into their new offices.

More importantly, the information and measurable results provided us with a roadmap on how we can increase sales even further! We were able to measure progress in real time and track every customer at every stage of the funnel. We made this table available to John and Windy every evening so they could see their success.

John said after the promotion, “I’ve never felt this good because I know exactly what to do next.”

The rest of the story

The owners of Texas Cryoworks are thrilled with the results of their very first ActiveCampaign. They now have plans to build more automations to keep their customers coming back!
