Singer-songwriter performs free live performance on Frank Phillips Garden Tuesday

As summer winds down the historic Frank Phillips Home will host live music once more this Tuesday.  The popular “Music on the Grounds” series welcomes Bartians to gather together on the lawn of “Uncle Frank’s” downtown home for music and fellowship.

Tuesday’s summer season finale features singer-songwriter Ann-Janette Webster and her band with a free concert at 6 p.m.

Director of Strategic Planning and event coordinator Kaci Fouts, says the entire staff looks forward to featuring the scenic grounds and welcoming the community for one more relaxing evening this Tuesday.

“There is no better spot in town to have live music and a picnic!  We want guests to come and relax on the lawn, reconnect with people, and hear some great music from Ann-Janette and her trio, “ said Kaci Fouts.  “Ann-Janette always brings a fun mix of songs that everyone enjoys, so we feel this will be the perfect way to close out a great season of music in style.”

Concert-goers are invited to pack a picnic and bring their own beverages, games and lawn chairs for this free family event.  Audiences are encouraged to come early to choose the perfect spot on the mansion’s shaded lawn.

Music Tuesday evening from “Ann-Janette & the Evolution” is being made possible by Truity Credit Union.  The popular group features Ann-Janette Webster on piano/vocals,  Donn McCallister on percussion and Mike Hough on Upright base.  The trio will entertain audiences with a blend of jazz standards, pop music from different eras as well as their own, unique piano-driven original songs.

Webster says she and the group always look forward to being part of the outdoor music series at the Frank Phillips Home.

“We just love the way the lawn of the famous Frank Phillips Home has become a beautiful new outdoor venue for live music,” said Webster.  “My family and I have attended several of these outdoor events this summer and have enjoyed the evenings so much. So, to be able to provide music for one of these festive nights makes my heart happy. I hope we have a great crowd on Tuesday to finish the summer right!”

The free “Music of the Grounds” concert begins at 6 p.m Tuesday and is free and open to the public.  A parking lot is located on 11th and Osage, behind the garage, and overflow parking is available at Spirit Church (9th & Osage).
