Which LinkedIn ad option is best for your brand?

We recently searched our audience’s insights to get direct feedback on which LinkedIn advertising option is delivering the best results for their business, via a Poll on LinkedIn.

As you can see here, 42% of the 410 responses to our survey said single image ads were the top-performing LinkedIn ad option for their business or that of their clients, followed by video ads, then promoted text posts, and other options behind.

Of these “Other” options, respondents indicated in the comments that carousel ads were also effective for some, while polls generate strong engagement. But single-image ads remain the clear leader for marketers, at least based on this survey — which is interesting considering LinkedIn indicates that video ads are the best performers overall based on its stats.

According to LinkedIn data, it is users are 20x more likely sharing a video on the platform than any other type of post, while response rates were for its video advertising products increases steadily over time. LinkedIn also says that video ads average 2x higher engagement and 3.5x higher CVR for B2B Brands as static posts, so there are some pretty compelling stats supporting the use of video ads over still image ads.

Of course, no generalized stats are universal as what works for each brand and audience will vary, and it’s worth noting that 400 responses isn’t a large sample size considering the platform is close now 800 million members in total.

But it might be worth considering – while video ads perform better statistically, still image ads remain the best performers based on responses from our community and could be just as valuable in your campaigns.
