- Go to your profile and click on “Edit”. Below you can see the Tip Jar function. Click on it to activate it.
- To set up your tip payment options; Click on “Allow Tips”. This opens up various payment options that you can set up and integrate with Twitter.
- Once the setup is complete, save your changes and you are done. Users should be able to see a tip icon next to the Follow button on their Twitter profile.
This means that the creator has activated their tip box and users can transfer money to it. When users want to transfer money into a tip jar, they can click the icon, which opens a list of all the payment platforms the account is linked to.
They can then choose the platform through which they want to transfer the money. This will take them to another app and allow users to choose the amount they want to transfer.
Content creators have the option of activating various payment gateways with their Twitter profiles. These include; Tape bearings, Cash app, Patreon, PayPal, and Venmo to post tips to a Twitter account. For Android users, these tips can be transferred via Spaces. It’s important to note that Twitter doesn’t charge any commission for the tips it receives.
Currently, Twitter only allows certain people to turn on their tip feature. This includes journalists, creators, nonprofit employees, and some more. However, Twitter says it will soon expand this feature to other users as well. The Tip Jar function is currently only available in English, but will also be developed for other languages in the future.
