While school’s already set to start up again, there are still three distinct seasons of fun, excitement and things to see and do in Fredericksburg, the heart of the Texas Hill Country, throughout the last five months of 2022.

Texas Wine Country in August

In August, Texas Wine Country comes alive with the activities and bustle of grape harvest season and the month is closed out with the longest continuous county fair in Texas—the Gillespie County Fair, now in its 134th year.

  • Texas Wine Country Grape Harvest Events & Experiences – As summer begins winding down, the Hill Country’s grape harvest season kicks into high gear. Long Labor Day Weekend in September

September is marked by the long Labor Day Weekend—the unofficial end of the summer season complete with live music, shopping, and plenty of family-friendly fun. But the whole month is a great time to visit and explore the town’s parks, shopping, museums, wineries (whose festivals continue into the month), and more.

October is the apex of Fredericksburg’s fall festivals, headlined by the town’s famous Oktoberfest and the Fredericksburg Food & Wine Fest.
