MYRTLE BEACH — A growing national cookie and dessert chain, known for catering to late-night snackers, is opening soon in the new Key West Village section of Broadway at the Beach.
Insomnia Cookies is scheduled to open on July 6 in a spot near The Hangout and Illumination Park, a revamped part of the complex that formerly housed the AMC Classic Broadway 16 movie theater, Dragon’s Lair Fantasy Mini-Golf and MagiQuest.
The eatery’s menu features 19 different types of cookies, including vegan options, and a variety of brownies, cookie cakes, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches and milk.
Pick-up and delivery are available at the Myrtle Beach location which will be open seven days a week from noon to midnight on Sunday; 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday and Friday, and noon to 1 a.m. on Saturday.
“The new store will deliver to locals and tourists alike traveling Myrtle Beach as well as other communities in the surrounding neighborhoods,” the company said in a statement. “Insomnia Cookies looks forward to contributing to the laid-back beach culture and satisfying the cravings of cookie lovers.”
Founded in 2003 in a University of Pennsylvania dorm room, Insomnia Cookies currently has more than 215 locations nationwide and typically can be found near college campuses. There are five other locations across the state including Charleston, Clemson, Columbia, Conway and Greenville.
