How Kuku Studios creates a digital story room with Bluescape

Solution: Create a virtual story room

Kuku Studios selected Bluescape to create a “story rooms everywhere” Set of workflows. Content previously limited to physical files and local directories can now be uploaded, assembled, organized, and discussed within an unlimited Bluescape workspace.

No longer tied to physical solutions and spaces, Kuku Studios can now realize the entire creative process within Bluescape. Kuku Studios uses Bluescape as a creative sandbox, studio archive, and pitch tool to land new projects.

By leveraging Bluescape’s extensive integration capabilities, Kuku Studios is able to continue using the tools they are most familiar with. You can create concept art in Adobe Illustrator and bring it directly into the workspace. You can also check playlists and versions of Autodesk Shotgrid. Bluescape offers a degree of flexibility and a much-needed immersive layer of review that other tools lack.

Reviewing content and providing feedback in Bluescape speeds up review cycles by giving everyone a bird’s-eye view of their work. The team can see the history of a project, understand inspiration, and track iterations of production resources.

“Bluescape has streamlined the way I work. It’s a great place to quickly brainstorm and organize ideas.”

– Tiffany Pham, Junior Visual Development Artist at Kuku Studios

Make remote production possible

Bluescape is gearing up to have the Kuku Studios team more productive meetings with all content of a storyroom in one workspace. Teams can start a video call for live conversations with one click and collaborate asynchronously. You are not limited to sharing just one screen or asset at a time. In Bluescape, they have access to an entire story room of content from wherever they work.

Kuku Studios launches new art tasks in Bluescape, where they visually communicate requirements and goals using text tools and templates. They then group reference images and create inspiration boards to set the tone of the project. From this central workspace, artists push and pull content as needed to ensure asset visibility and timely delivery.

Kuku Studios relies on Bluescape as the backbone for important meetings with executive producers and directors. Artists load their work onto canvases within the workspace, present their content, comment, discuss, and add more material along with creative cues.
