YouTube Previews New Instruments to Assist Creators Showcase the Worth of their Channel for Model Promotions

YouTube wants to help more YouTubers make offers for branded content through a new ‘MediaKit’ supplement within YouTube Studio, which helps them better formulate their channel’s presentation to potential advertising partners in the app.

As you can see in this screenshot, the new MediaKit ad, which will be available soon via the BrandConnect tab in YouTube Studio (for those who already Registered) provides a shareable summary of your channel’s viewership and viewing statistics, including subscribers, unique viewers, average watch time per clip, and more. Channel managers can also update their channel bio on this display, which will not affect their public bio on the app.

The listing will also include more detailed audience data, including demographics and audience interests.

Channel managers can also choose four featured videos to show in the ad, while the listing also highlights previous paid partnerships for additional reference.

This information can then be searched by BrandConnect partner brands for potential branded content deals, while channel managers will also be able to download the listing as a PDF which they can then share with potential partners as well.

It’s a good addition that will help YouTubers better showcase the potential value of their channels for brand advertising, which could help them get more business, while also giving brands more choices regarding their ad placements in the app, based on reach and Shopping Insights.

This is tremendous value for YouTube, especially considering more and more people are watching YouTube content on their home TVs. More than 120 million people are now watching YouTube content on their home TVs every month, which has seen a spike in interest during the pandemic, effectively enabling YouTube to offer traditional TV ad resonance with far more advanced targeting and focus.

That means lower costs, which means more businesses can now consider an alternative form of television advertising to promote their products and services. And as more creators list more of this information, it further improves what YouTube has to offer and in turn gives creators more opportunities to make more money from their YouTube clips.

According to YouTube, the new MediaKit option will be rolling out “in the next few months” to developers in the US, UK and Canada.
