Who is EZmob?

What is this guide about?

Affiliate marketing is new to many of our customers and testing offers can be profitable, but if you’re on a tight budget and want to get conversions now instead of later, you need to get your campaign up and running before you even hit the ‘run’ ‘ Button.

There is a quick checklist to go through before setting up your offering on a DSP or mobile network:

  • Set up your conversion tracking: Conversion tracking is key to opening your eyes to what is working with your campaign. Continue reading here.
  • Read the offer’s KPI: It is getting harder and harder to meet the advertiser’s KPIs. Chat with your affiliate manager and learn how complex the KPIs are and what you need to do to meet them. Check if pop or push traffic is within the guidelines of this offer.
  • Understand the metrics: Understand how many clicks or impressions you need to buy and how many you need to convert. Allow yourself some wiggle room, but on the whole it’s important to understand that when you’re starting a conversion from z, understanding how much room you have to experiment.
  • Aim well: Find out the exact targeting required for your listing to convert. Some key targeting features may include specific browsers, wireless carriers, operating system versions, and so on. Make sure you target your campaigns within these limits. Tip: If you are promoting an app that requires a lot of storage space (e.g. over 200MB), it may not be advisable to target users without a WiFi connection who may not want to spend their data plan on downloading your app.
  • Check: Before you start, speak to our manager, ask for a test conversion to be submitted and make sure that tracking for conversions is ready.

In this guide we use Popunder Ads, mostly because they are cheap, effective, and easy to scale. Popunder bids start at 20 C for 1000 impressions, which means that users will actually land on your landing page 1000 times for just 20 C.

Of course, there’s a downside to popups like the extra volume and speed of traffic once the campaigns start, but that’s easy to fix by limiting your daily campaign budget, increasing your bid to reach higher quality publishers, and a a tighter frequency cap to reach more unique users per day.

In addition to popunder ads, you may find Push notification ads to be very engaging and effective in most campaigns that pop ads work for.

How do you choose an offer and the GEO?

Sometimes it seems that there are millions of affiliate offers to choose from, some are propagated from network to network, some are generated directly by the app developers and while the metrics are similar, choosing an offer that is closer to the source is , the key to your ROI.

Just remember that when you shop for an excellent deal to try out, you need to generate good creatives, landing pages, and content to do a lot with your marketing. So choose something that you can deliver well.

The offer

In this case, we are promoting a music entertainment app that is available online and in every app store.

  • Other technical requirements: Use 3 = for the language and use 4 = for the currency
  • Countries: USA, CA

Since this offer pays off when selling, the targeting is very broad. After a discussion with the affiliate manager, I was able to determine for which targeting the conversion should be easier.

The campaign setup

If you can design and use your own pre-landers, we strongly encourage you to do so. If not, start with what the affiliate network has to offer and discuss with your affiliate manager features that might work for your campaign.

Having a great landing page is key to a popunder campaign for obvious reasons. Make sure you have some variations in your landing page and that your hosting can handle several thousand users per hour visiting your pages.

The Prelander

Before starting a campaign, contact our DSP manager and make sure you are using EZmob’s top performing channels for your offer.

Start with a low bid to understand how competitive you should be on the traffic you are targeting.

Give your campaign some breathing space before eliminating placements.

The most important part of your optimization strategy is that high quality placements continue to deliver traffic and avoid less effective publisher placements. However, you should still give placements that perform well on a lower bid or a more stringent target to which you could apply. a double campaign. Read more about optimization in EZmob’s HelpDesk.

Once you have your list of conversion placements, duplicate your campaign and whitelist only those placements that have a higher bid. that should help you get more conversions. You can blacklist these placements in your original campaign to avoid competing with yourself. In both cases, however, the higher bid wins the impression.

Once you know which placements are getting good conversions for your whitelisted campaign, check out which bid will get the best win rate and still get a ROI around the world.

If you keep this practice a few more days, you should have some reliable sub-ids that you can count on for more than one bid conversion.

Keep your newly acquired list ready for future offerings among similar industries that you may want to pursue in the future.

Some other optimization tips might include:

  • Campaign planning – See if your campaign is likely to get better conversions at certain times of the day and apply that planning at the campaign level.
  • Segment reports by browsers, operating system versions, cellular carriers, etc. and apply customized bids to control your bids for your whitelisted or global campaigns.

The bottom line

Working with a solid affiliate network and offering is the key to the success of any campaign.

If you allow your campaign to collect enough data, spread across different targeting groupings, you have more room for optimization.

Duplicate your campaigns and whitelist placements or SubIDs that convert well for you, bid higher bids for that campaign, control and scale it with daily budget and cap.

Test several offers and segment your campaigns according to very different targeting functions such as operating systems and countries, as placements may work differently.
