5. Set up an “Account Nickname”
In the past, setting up an account with ClickBank meant giving you a ClickBank username to get started.
Nowadays it is something you do afterwards.
Click on the “Account” tab.
It’s pretty easy from here on. Click the “Create Account” button, select “Affiliate” from the drop-down menu, enter your desired username and click the “Sign In” button.
Pick Products, Promote, Earn, Repeat!
After you’ve set up your ClickBank account, go to the ClickBank Marketplace and start choosing the products you want to promote.
If you’d prefer to wait and do more research, find out How to choose a niche and products, that’s ok.
Now, if you want to promote ClickBank products, you need your affiliate links. This is the unique URL (also known as the Hoplink) that you give subscribers on your list, visitors to your blog page, or any other platform you use to purchase the product you are promoting.
With this unique URL, ClickBank can keep track of whether or not a customer bought the product through your link.
There is a lot of literature on hoplinks on the ClickBank support site, but generating or getting a hoplink doesn’t require as many instructions. On the dashboard, click the Marketplace tab.
You will then get to the ClickBank Marketplace:
From here, you have the option to use the search bar at the top to search for affiliate programs or products, or you can click the tabs on the left sidebar.
The search results will show you gravity, links to the affiliate page and the sales page of the products:
Go through each one and when you find The One hit the blue “Promote” button. This will bring up the Hopelink generator pop-up window:
Enter the nickname of the account you are using to promote this product. This is important as all transactions related to this product will be tracked and entered under the account nickname you provided.
Tracking ID is optional, but useful if you are doing split testing.
If you click the “Generate Hoplinks” button, you will receive the affiliate link / hoplink for this product:
You can then copy this link and place it on your website. All clicks on this link will be tracked and all sales generated through this link will be credited to you under that specific account nickname.
Another way to get affiliate links is through a provider’s affiliate or JV page. Here’s how to get one with a ClickBank product called Total Money Magnetism …
First go to the product homepage. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Affiliates.
You will then be redirected to a page where you will need to sign up for Total Money Magnetism’s affiliate program in order to access the affiliate links.
All you need to do here is enter your full name, ClickBank ID (or account nickname), email address, and website if you have your own.
Once you are signed in, you can access the partner resources page. This is a page that brings you a number of cool resources that you can use to promote the product. It includes things like email swipes, page banners, and images.
To find your affiliate link, click on “Promotion Links” in the top bar.
Please note that you will have different links for different sales pages. One for a video sales page and one for a sales letter page, etc.
This special offer requires you to enter your User ID (or the nickname of your ClickBank account) wherever you are supposed to.
If you scroll down you will see the Hoplink or Affiliate Link which you can then copy and paste on your website:
NOTE: The way you receive your affiliate program links may vary. Some may ask for your ID and they will generate the links for you instead. But no worry; You will end up with the same affiliate links.
Now that you have your own hoplink, it’s time to promote the product. Depending on the strategy you are using, make sure you always use your hoplink to redirect people to the product sales page.
If you don’t, ClickBank won’t be able to track that a sale was made through you, which means you won’t receive your commission.
