Facebook modifications its title to meta and Google search outcomes, adapts rapidly

The big news yesterday was that Facebook announced his new company name – Meta. Yes, Facebook’s company name is Meta. Like metadata, meta tags, and any other metas that Google Search may have previously ranked. But when the Facebook announcement came out, Google search results quickly adjusted to rank this breaking news.

I won’t go into why Facebook was renamed Meta, you can read the hundreds of articles on it Tech memes. But as a search freak, it was impressive to see how quickly Google’s search results picked up on the change and started ranking those news and content for meta.

That’s a screenshot I took about an hour after the announcement and the first organic result there is the Facebook announcement. Look at the results for the keyword for yourself [meta].

This is what it looked like before:

Curious how SERPs are developing?

Analyze as this site evolves.

And fast.

I like the joke that John Mueller made on the subject:

okay, not a new page, a FB joke right? I wayback edited it 🙂

Johannes added:

I wonder if this is going to confuse rankings and search results for all the SEO sites talking about meta tags now. Are you getting a lot of “meta” traffic? This will keep the SEO and web dev community busy for months.

In any case, I’m sure SEOs will have a lot of fun with this news.
